Qatar Fencing Federation
The Qatar Fencing Federation has two Fencing Coach positions vacant (one in foil and one in epee):
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
EPEE and FOIL
• 6-8 years of related experience of which a minimum of 8 to 10 years as athlet first and coach after
• Good experience in Fencing as a player
• Fencing Coach Accreditation/certification (grade 3) issued by an official and recognized Body/Academy/University
• Sport science degree is recommended
•Ability to show progressive development of U8 to U17 fencers
• Must be able to independently develop a training schedule for a group of fencers with widely divergent skills
• High level of computer literacy would be preferred
KEY CORE ACTIVITIES
Preparation & Planning
• Assist the Head Coach in the preparation of an the annual program of training and competition
• Prepare annual coaching programme scheme for specific areas of responsibility
• Prepare session plans for each session that is delivered
• Prepare Individualised Integrated Performance Plans for athletes from grade 3 and above
• Provide to the Head Coach with reports about the activities
Coaching Delivery
Deliver high quality, age-appropriate fencing coaching to the athletes by:
• Teaching relevant skills, tactics and techniques
• Monitoring and enhancing performance by providing tuition, encouragement and constructive feedback
• Identifying strengths and weaknesses and taking actions to encourage strengths and rectify weaknesses
• Advising about health and lifestyle issues
• Undertaking administrative tasks including records of attendance and regular reports on each student-athlete
• Assisting with sports promotion/development
• Working with coaches and the Aspire Academy staff to develop and implement athletic training and activity to improve overall athletic skills of athletes
